The 4th International Conference on “Sustainable Development: Women’s Initiatives in Science and Business” is being held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
At this international conference, Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, Rector of the Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction named after Mirzo Ulugbek, participated with a presentation on “Women in Architecture and Construction Around the World.

These include:Exemption from entrance test fees – Applicants with disabilities (Groups I and II) are exempt from paying the test participation fee.Additional state grant quota – In addition to the general admission quota, a two-percent state grant quota is allocated for applicants with disabilities.Accessible learning environment – University buildings, classrooms, and campuses are adapted to the needs of students with disabilities (ramps, elevators, and designated areas).Social and financial support – Students with disabilities or those from low-income families receive additional financial assistance from the scholarship fund.Psychological and social assistance – University psychologists conduct special training sessions and counseling to support students’ mental well-being.Accommodation privileges – Socially vulnerable and disabled students are provided with free or discounted dormitory accommodation

University psychologists Sardor Otayorov and Umida Najmiyeva conducted a psychodiagnostic seminar-training for first- and second-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, with the participation of the deputy dean and tutors.
During the seminar, the psychological “Hadis” method was used to assess levels of anxiety, stress, and depression that students may experience seasonally. The psychologists provided information about the negative effects of these conditions on individuals. At the end of the meeting, students received answers to their questions.


Persons with disabilities are exempt from paying the fee required to participate in entrance examinations. In addition to the general admission quotas for higher education institutions, a two-percent state grant quota has been allocated for applicants with disabilities.
Applicants with disabilities (Groups I and II) who achieve at least 30 percent of the maximum possible score in entrance exams are recommended for admission, in strict accordance with the ranking of their results, within the framework of the additional two-percent state grant quota.


Starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, up to one percent of state grant quotas have also been allocated for orphans and graduates of children’s homes, in addition to the general admission quota.
In 2024, Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction (SamDAQU) provided free accommodation for students with disabilities and granted additional financial incentives from the scholarship fund.
