In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 2 — “Zero Hunger,” Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction (SamDAQU) pays special attention to ensuring access to healthy and affordable meals for students, faculty, and staff.
The university cafeterias offer nutritious and wholesome meals. By using products from local producers, ecological sustainability is promoted. Regular seminars and awareness campaigns are conducted to cultivate a culture of healthy eating among students.
Discounts are available for students with limited financial means, expanding their access to quality meals. Additionally, the use of plastic containers in university cafeterias is restricted, with a shift toward reusable containers.
Through these measures, SamDAQU creates a healthy, safe, and affordable dining environment for every student and staff member, demonstrating its commitment to the principles of sustainable development.


In accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 — “Zero Hunger,” Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction (SamDAQU) has been implementing various campaigns and events aimed at promoting a healthy, balanced, and sustainable eating culture.
During 2024–2025, the university organized “Healthy Eating” weeks, ecological campaigns, poster contests, seminars, and training sessions. These activities are designed to encourage students and staff to reduce food waste, use local products, and adopt environmentally friendly eating habits.


Additionally, the university cafeterias have phased out single-use plastic containers, introduced reusable dishes, and implemented organic waste sorting.
Through these initiatives, SamDAQU promotes a healthy lifestyle, ecological responsibility, and a culture of sustainable nutrition, contributing to the creation of a healthy and green environment for future generations.
